The Clock Tower is working… and so am I

Since the doors to York’s famous Terry’s Chocolate Factory (birthplace of the delicious Chocolate Orange) were closed in 2005, time has stood still on the factory’s iconic Clock Tower. Until now… 18 years later (and following a £60k redevelopment project) today is the day that the hands of the clock have started to move in time again.

This coincides with the launch of my brand new professional soft furnishings business and my sewing workroom resides in the shadows of this majestic Clock Tower. We are at the heart of York’s industrious heritage on the site of a once thriving chocolate factory, where Terry’s of York produced hundreds of thousands of chocolate oranges every day. It is the perfect setting and it will certainly keep me delivering your projects on-time, with a perfect view of the north facing clock face on my tea breaks.

I achieved my Diploma in Professional Curtain Making and Soft Furnishings at the National Design Academy in 2022, where I received expert tuition from some of the best curtain makers in the business. Since then, I have been realising my lifelong ambiton to make a career out of my passions for sewing and design.

My business is offering a full suite of services to deliver unique, high quality, bespoke curtains, blinds and cushions to discerning clients and their beautiful homes in and around the city of York. I am offering a completely free, personalised design consultation for all customers, including a full and detailed measuring service to offer you complete peace of mind that when it comes to fit day, everything will hang perfectly, as you envisioned.

I can make to your design and your measurements, bringing your vision to life. If you don’t know where to start I can visit you in your home to complete a window survey and design consultation. I’ll arrive laden with fabric books full of beautiful designer fabrics and sample fixtures for you to peruse. I’ll also take precise measurements, leaving nothing to chance. If you are looking for a full end to end service, leave it to us. I have an experienced fitter; he’s super accurate, friendly and very tidy. Both of us will attend on fit day, to ensure you’re perfectly happy.
